Service Description

The Rookie level is typically for boys and girls that are in K-4th grade who are just starting out in basketball. At this stage, we will put a heavy emphasis on laying the foundation properly and teaching the players the proper mechanics on ball handling, shooting, footwork, finishing, passing, rebounding, and defense. Players will learn all the fundamentals and basketball-specific skills. The majority of the time is spent on individual fundamental training such as balance, ball handling, shooting, footwork, finishing. During the session players will compete to help players transfer the fundamentals to game play for peak performance. We will teach position concepts, but will not assign player positions at any point in the level so that all players can learn all positions and become versatile. We believe every player should be able to finish with either hand. Skill is the great equalizer. We put a heavy emphasis on proper mechanics of shooting, ball handling, passing, finishing, defense, and rebounding.
